Trash: Multiband Distortion and Convolution Plugin by iZotope

The Trash module blends up to four distortion settings using an intuitive XY pad, and you can modulate the distortion for added dynamics and movement. The Convolve module simulates the acoustics of more than 300 spaces and objects, including speakers, clock radios and tin cans. The Impulse Response Loader lets you add your own files.

The frequency band split divides audio into low, mid and high bands, so you can add distortion to one part of the spectrum or process the whole signal. The Envelope Follower adds movement, and the Scream Filter, a self-oscillating low-pass filter, adds extra color when you want it.

Intelligent autogain and limiter settings manage output levels.

Trash is built for producers who want to push sound beyond conventional processing. Its random dice function selects from more than 300 presets and changes the settings of the XY pads, which can help when you are stuck for ideas.

The Swap control reverses the order of the Trash and Convolve modules in the signal chain for each band, so you can test many combinations of distortion and spatial effects. Trash can be applied to a single instrument or a full mix.
