01Overview

Augmented VOICES is built around a two-layer architecture, where each layer holds two sound sources that can be sampled vocals or synth engines. Arturia describes the instrument as a way to move beyond conventional choir sounds and familiar one-shots. The Morph control moves between layers and can adjust up to eight destinations at once, while macros, modulation and an arpeggiator give quick and detailed control over the result.

Hybrid Sound Design With Samples and Synthesis

Augmented VOICES pairs a built-in vocal sample library with four synth engines: Virtual Analog, Granular, Wavetable and Harmonic. Arturia says the library was recorded with six vocalists and was captured with high-end microphones in a specialized space. The Virtual Analog engine uses TAE technology, and the Granular engine can produce warp, glitch and stretch textures.

Each layer contains two sound sources, so a preset can combine sampled and synthesized voices. Settings such as filter cutoff, sample width and envelope times can be adjusted within the advanced panel.

Workflow, Macros and Modulation

The main panel is built around a central Morph control and seven macros covering Time, Color, Motion, FX A, FX B, Reverb and Delay. These controls let you change several parameters at once without leaving the main view.

The advanced panel adds two LFOs, two function generators, two random generators and four keyboard modulation sources, with click-and-drag modulation routing. A built-in 16-step polymetric arpeggiator covers rhythmic movement.
