01Overview

Augmented PERSIA is built for producers who want the character of traditional acoustic instruments inside a modern sound design workflow. Arturia pairs its instrument samples with synthesis, so a sound can move from a recognizable acoustic tone toward granular, wavetable or analog-style textures. The plugin is organized around layers, macros and modulation, and it ships with 200 factory presets aimed at cinematic, electronic and world music.

Acoustic samples and synthesis in one instrument

The instrument library covers Ney, Oud, Tar and Saz, along with Alto Kamancheh and Shah Kaman. Each preset contains two layers, and each layer has two customizable sound sources.

The five synthesis engines are Virtual Analog, Granular, Harmonic, Wavetable and a Simpler engine for noise and impacts. Morphing lets you move between the acoustic samples and the synthetic engines, so one patch can sit anywhere along that range.

Modulation, effects and performance control

Assignable macros and drag-and-drop modulation are central to the workflow. The modulation section includes two LFOs, two Function Generators, two Random sources and four Keyboard mod sources.

Each layer has two FX slots with 16 effect types available, and the plugin adds dedicated Delay and Reverb buses. A built-in arpeggiator and chance-based sequencer add rhythmic movement. MPE support and MTS-ESP microtuning compatibility are included for expressive playing and non-Western scales.
