How Structural Split Changes Equalization
Most EQs process the whole signal at once. SplitEQ analyzes the input and separates it into a transient stream, which covers noise, pops, mic plosives, vocal sibilance and attacks, and a tonal stream, which covers sustained notes, harmonics, tone and ambience.
Each of the eight bands can act on either stream. Eventide says this makes common problems easier to solve in a complex mix, such as softening a snare's attack or cutting plosives without thinning the body of a vocal.
