01Overview

Full Metering is a studio tool for checking the level, dynamics and stereo balance of a mix or master. IK Multimedia built it as a metering suite that can be used inside a session or on a master bus. Individual meters can be switched on or off, so the display can be kept to the readings needed for the current task. The developer positions the suite for work that must meet broadcast compatibility and digital delivery standards.

Best for

Level, Dynamics and Frequency Metering

Peak, RMS and dynamic range meters show the crest factor, the gap between RMS and peak levels. Reading that gap helps you decide whether a mix should lean toward a more compressed sound or keep more dynamic movement.

The suite also includes a spectrogram, a real-time analyzer, and phase and correlation meters. According to IK Multimedia, these help you spot frequency imbalances and phase problems before printing masters for digital or physical distribution.

VU and PPM meters add a classic reference view. VU metering reads average loudness, while PPM responds faster, which suits monitoring transients.

Stereo Width Checks with Mid-Side Metering

Mid-side meters show how the mono and stereo content of a track relate in terms of overall energy. You can use these readings to judge whether the stereo image is wide or narrow, and to check how much of the energy sits in the center.

Because each meter can be enabled separately, you can build a layout that shows only the readings you need, keeping the workflow focused.
