01Overview

true:level is a metering plugin from sonible built to show how loudness and dynamics work together in a mix. Its main display maps these two qualities against a reference zone, so you can see at a glance whether a track is close to your target. Presets for common reference values, including loudness levels used by publishing platforms and dynamic ranges for different genres, are included. You can also load custom reference tracks, up to eight per project, to compare your mix against them.

Loudness and Dynamics Metering for Final Mix Checks

The plugin reads loudness in LUFS as integrated, short-term and momentary values, along with loudness range in LU. Dynamics are shown in dB based on the peak-to-loudness ratio, and true peak in dBTP is measured with high-resolution oversampling.

Readouts are supported by target indicators, so you can see whether a track sits near the values of the reference you chose. The reference zone is set either by a built-in reference or by your uploaded tracks.

When a mix falls outside the zone, the Level Check gives text-based suggestions on what to adjust.

Reference Targets and Level Check for Publishing

Reference values help you avoid surprises when a mix is released. The developer describes the built-in references as covering publishing platform loudness standards and genre dynamics.

For a project that needs consistent levels across several songs, up to eight reference tracks can be loaded and compared with the mix. The Level Check is useful when you know the target but not which change will reach it.
