01Overview

SSL Meter Pro is built for music producers, mix engineers and mastering engineers who need to check levels and balance before a mix leaves the studio. Loudness presets cover a range of broadcast, streaming and film standards, and a 31-band real-time analyser shows the full frequency spectrum. Solid State Logic also offers tight integration with its UF1 controller and SSL 360 software, so the plugin can be viewed and controlled from the hardware.

Loudness, Peak and Frequency Metering

The loudness section offers momentary bars, short-term history, a histogram and a universe view, along with customisable text readouts and alerts. Presets target standards including ITU, EBU, ATSC, ARIB, AGCOM, YouTube, Netflix and Spotify. Dolby Dialogue Detection Mode is included for dialogue-focused work.

For levels, True Peak and RMS meters are available in Non-Linear, Linear and K-System scales, with a high-quality true peak mode. A scalable 31-band real-time analyser shows energy build-ups and resonances across the spectrum.

Phase, Balance and Multichannel Workflows

Sound field metering includes phase correlation and balance displays, which help check mono compatibility and stereo spread. Multichannel support runs from mono and stereo through 5.1 and 7.1 layouts up to 7.1.4, which covers stereo music, 5.1 film and immersive formats.

Analogue VU and PPM meters are also included for producers who prefer the feel of traditional metering. The GUI can be resized and its sections collapsed to fit the session layout.
