01Overview

MODO MAX packages two physically modeled instruments from IK Multimedia. MODO BASS 2 models the full act of playing an electric, fretless or acoustic bass, including the player, instrument, effects and amp. MODO DRUM 1.5 offers 13 customizable drum kits built on modal synthesis combined with advanced sampling. Because the sound is generated in real time, the instruments stay compact on disk and give access to playing parameters that sample libraries rarely expose.

MODO BASS 2: Modeled Bass Sound and Playing Control

MODO BASS 2 is the expanded edition of IK's physically modeled bass instrument. It includes 22 bass models, among them 2 fretless and 2 double-bass options, spanning the history of recorded electric bass.

The instrument lets you choose playing style, including pluck and new pick and slap articulations, and move the playing hand. You can customize string force, fingers used, pick thickness and technique, as well as string number, scale, tuning, gauge and action.

The signal chain includes 32 interchangeable pickups, active or passive electronics with parametric EQ, an under-bridge piezo pickup with blend, a 7-effect stomp box section in a 4-slot chain, and two amp models, Solid State and Tube, derived from AmpliTube. Any standard bass can be converted to a fretless model using the Fingerboard Type control.

MODO DRUM 1.5 and the Patterns Section

MODO DRUM 1.5 provides 13 drum kits, each chosen to represent a style, genre or period, including Silver, Brit Custom, Metal, Extreme, Grungy and Plexi. The Customize section lets you add, remove, swap and rearrange drums in a kit and adjust parameters for each drum.

MODO BASS 2 adds a redesigned Patterns section with smart filters for genre, song section, length and time signature. You can audition patterns instantly, from full song backbones to short solo licks.

Who MODO MAX Suits

MODO MAX suits producers who need bass and drum parts that feel played rather than sampled, and who want to shape performance details such as string force, pick thickness or kit construction. Full MIDI control with MIDI learn and keyswitches supports integration into a MIDI-driven workflow.

It is also a fit for anyone who wants a bass instrument with a compact memory footprint.
