01Overview

ADAPTIVERB takes a different approach to reverb. Instead of modeling a room, its ray tracing and allpass-based engine focuses on depth, sustain and harmonic richness. A Harmonic Contour Filter can remove reverb content that clashes with the input, the captured harmonic fingerprint, or a set of notes chosen on an on-screen keyboard. The plugin also offers a FREEZE function for infinite tails and a set of sound design tools for drones, pads and cross-filtering effects.

Harmonic reverb with a Bionic Sustain engine

ADAPTIVERB's Bionic Sustain Resynthesis is designed to produce reverb tails without the graininess and noise splashes common in conventional reverbs. The Ray Tracing and Allpass based engine builds dense, diffuse tails, and the Pre-Processing section includes harmonic synthesis based AIR.

The Harmonic Contour Filter (HCF) is the core control for keeping the tail in tune. It can follow the input, a captured harmonic fingerprint, or a chosen set of notes. Keyboard modes use filtering and pitch quantization to conform the effect to a specific key.

Sound design controls: RICHNESS, SIMPLIFY, FREEZE and HOLD

RICHNESS adds octave, fifth or unison interval harmonics into the reverb. SIMPLIFY recreates the input's harmonic content with a small number of oscillators for additive synthesis style sounds.

FREEZE holds the input to create drones, pads or infinite reverb type sounds. HCF HOLD mode provides cross-filtering effects. The preset library of more than 400 presets covers standard reverbs, instrument and voice colored reverbs, adaptively filtered delays, and pads that play without input signal. All key parameters can be controlled via MIDI.
