Drum Level Control Inside Mixed Music
UNMIX::DRUMS acts as an after-the-fact fader for drums. You feed it a mixed music input and adjust DRUM LEVEL and THRESHOLD to change drum level relative to the rest of the material. Zynaptiq says the drums can be pulled back to headphone bleed levels or pushed forward in the mix. The developer notes that achievable amounts depend on the input signal, so results vary by source material.
On a drum bus, the frequency-dependent DRUM LEVEL control can be shaped with a breakpoint editor in the CURVES view. Zynaptiq calls this impact equalization, a way to shape drum punch without a compressor or transient processor.
