01Overview

TIME FACTORY II is built for precise audio time stretching and pitch shifting across whole batches of files. It handles mono, stereo and multichannel material, with sample rates up to 384kHz and bit depths up to 32-bit. Users can set the stretch amount in BPM, seconds, sample frames or FPS, which suits frame rate conversion for film sound as well as tempo and pitch changes for music production and remixing.

Algorithms and Precision for Time Stretching

TIME FACTORY II includes five stretching algorithms: MPEX 2, MPEX 3, ZTX, quickStretch and ClearScale. Each has its own parameters and strengths, so you can choose one based on the signal type and the result you want.

The application uses high-precision processing, which Zynaptiq says keeps timing accurate on very long files such as film reels. Algorithm parameters can be tuned for speech, complex material, or monophonic and polyphonic music.

Workflow, Formats and Batch Processing

The batch processing engine lets you set parameters, start processing and work on other tasks while your Mac handles the files. Factory presets cover common jobs such as 3:2 pull-down, PAL and NTSC frame rate conversion, double speed and half speed, and you can save your own presets for repeated tasks.

File support includes AIFF, WAV, BWF with metadata preservation, CAF, WAVE64, MBWF/RF64 and SoundDesigner II.
