Sound Character and Core Processing

The SHIFT module combines pitch and frequency shifting in one topology, with SMOOTH and TIGHT modes and two DETUNE modes for stereo widening and chorusing. Pitch shifting covers plus or minus four octaves and frequency shifting covers plus or minus 4000 Hz, with 96 dB/oct carrier and side-band attenuation.

The WARP module handles spectral inversion and warping, which can produce robotic, alien or monster-style voices. Dry/wet morphing lets you blend between clean and heavily processed signal, keeping vocals intelligible or easing in a transformation over time.

Workflow and Typical Applications

WORMHOLE uses a flexible signal path with five modules, so you can build sci-fi textures, creature voices, ambient pads and widened guitars or pianos in one plugin. Zynaptiq describes the interface as simple, and it includes factory presets, a weighted randomization feature and MIDI Learn for all controls.

The plugin is also suited to mixing tasks such as suboctave creation, filtering and harmonic shaping, as well as lo-fi effects through the WARP section.
