01Overview

Tone Morsels is a sampled instrument bank drawn from fourteen of Soundiron's percussion libraries, including glockenspiels, kalimba, music box, circlebells and waterharp. The developer describes it as a sampler of its house style, letting you try the character of its larger products in one package. The library ships as a single master NKI instrument with 638 stereo samples, totaling 920 MB installed. Samples are 24-bit / 48 kHz uncompressed WAV, and the sample folders are unlocked for use outside Kontakt.

Sound Sources and Ambient Textures

Tone Morsels combines tuned percussion and stringed instruments with 30 ambiences created from the same source material. The percussion sounds include glockenspiel, kalimba, music box and bell-type voices, so you can blend bright attacks with softer, washed-out tones.

The library also includes 20 custom sound-designed FX and ambient presets. These give you pads and textures you can layer under or alongside the acoustic sounds without building them from scratch.

Controls, Arpeggiator and FX Rack

The multi-layer interface gives you LFO, filter, glide and an arpeggiator. The FX rack includes convolution reverb with custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments, so you can place the instruments in a space or push them into effects territory.

Because the instrument is built in Kontakt, its parameters are set up for automation in your host. The sample folders and presets are unlocked, so you can customize the patches or reuse the WAV files in other software.

Running Tone Morsels in Kontakt

Tone Morsels requires the full version of Kontakt 5.5.0 or later. In the free Kontakt Player it only runs in limited demo mode. The library uses the standard open Kontakt format, so you should load it through the File browser tab or the Kontakt Quickload window rather than the Libraries tab.

The system requirements are Windows 7 or higher, or Mac OS X 10.9 or higher, a dual-core CPU, and 2 GB of RAM. An SSD or SATA drive is recommended.
