01Overview

Soundiron's Mercury Boys' Choir Elements is built from a 25-voice boys' choral ensemble recorded with the Pacific Boychoir. The library is captured with a close microphone position in a large hall, which the developer says gives the choir brilliance, clarity and a full tone. Vowel sustains, staccatos and marcatos cover the Ah, Eh, Oh and Oo vowels in piano and forte dynamics, with two round-robin variations per note.

Choir Sound and Articulations

The core of the library is a set of layered vowels in piano and forte dynamics. Sustains, staccatos and marcatos are available for Ah, Eh, Oh and Oo, and each note has two round-robin variations to reduce repetition on repeated notes.

True legato is provided for the Ah and Oo vowels, also in piano and forte. Multi-syllable chromatic Latin words for sustained and staccato playing use automatic tempo-syncing, so phrases lock to the project tempo.

Controls, Mapping and Effects

The custom interface gives fully automatable access to the main performance controls. A dual-layer layout lets you mix and blend between vowels and articulations within one instrument.

A Playmaster system offers direct access to sustains, staccatos and marcatos. Key mapping can be customized and saved or loaded. Integrated DSP effects and 51 custom convolution impulse responses are included, along with children's choral vocal effects and a set of ambient soundscapes, drones, pads and atmospheres built from the same choral source.
