01Overview

Requiem Light Symphonic Choir is aimed at composers who need a choir for trailer, film and classical arrangements. Soundiron says the library was recorded in a large cathedral-style hall with a full choir, captured with 12 large diaphragm microphones and delivered as a stereo master. The library runs inside the free Kontakt Player, so it can be loaded as a VST, AU or AAX instrument in a compatible host.

Choir Articulations and Sound Range

The library includes polyphonic true-legato sustains for full unison choir with Ah, Eh and Oh vowels and piano-to-forte dynamic cross-fading. Men's and women's divisi sustains cover six vowel sounds: Ah, Ee, Eh, Ih, Oh and Oo.

Short and marcato articulations are also included. There are 24 staccato syllables with round-robin playback and 16 single-syllable marcato words, both usable with integrated phrase sequencing. Twenty fast and 12 slow multi-syllable Latin words offer time-stretching, tempo sync and legato control, and 10 poly-sustain articulations are provided for tenor and soprano soloists.

Effects, Pads and Reverb Spaces

Beyond the core vocal articulations, the library includes choral effects such as clusters, glisses, swells, sweeps, consonants, shouts, breaths, claps and snaps. Soundiron also includes bonus atmospheres, drones and evolving pads, which the developer describes as hand-crafted from the source material.

A modular FX rack provides 119 custom convolution reverb and impulse responses for placing the choir in different spaces or creating textural effects.
