The Farm Stone Room Studio Reverb: Stone Room Drum Reverb by IK Multimedia

The Farm Stone Room gives you two separate reverb paths. The Stereo Room channel uses a Neumann U87 pair to capture the wider space of the room. The Mono Crush channel uses an STC 4021 "Ball and biscuit" microphone to produce a punchier, dirtier mono signal.

On the Mono Crush path, an analog-modeled SSL Listen Mic Compressor is inserted to add weight to the drum sound. The two channels can be balanced against each other with the dry and wet level controls, and each has a solo button for checking its contribution.

IK says the reverb uses its VRM technology to reproduce the space, and the Curtain Open and Curtain Closed settings change how much the room dampens the sound, moving it from brighter to darker.

The interface is a single panel. Beyond the room channels, it provides EQ, pre-delay and an expanded decay time control, so you can shape how the reverb sits in a mix without leaving the plugin.

The EQ and dynamics are modeled on SSL hardware, which IK describes as the way the sound was shaped in the original studio. Pre-delay lets you separate the reverb from the dry drum hit, and decay time sets how long the room tail rings out.

Because the controls are grouped on one panel, the plugin suits quick adjustments on drum buses and individual drum tracks alike.
