01Overview

Prism Reverb is a reverb plug-in from IK Multimedia built around four modules: the reverb core, modulation, pitch shifting and feedback. The developer positions it as a tool for sound design rather than simple ambience, with controls for shaping the reverb's size, diffusion and tail movement. It can run on its own or inside the T-RackS 6 plug-in shell, and it ships with presets for bass, guitar, keys, FX, voice and other sources.

Reverb core, modulation and pitch shifting

The reverb module sets the initial reflections, and its Size and Diffusion controls move the sound from tight, focused spaces to large, ambient ones. The modulation section works on the tail, with Depth, LFO Rate and optional randomization. Left and right channels can be modulated independently for asymmetrical spatial movement.

Two independent pitch shifters cover a range of ±2 octaves, with fine tuning down to 1/100th of a semitone. Each has its own level and pan controls, which suits shimmering textures as well as subtle tonal shifts.

Feedback control and the T-RackS shell

The feedback engine adjusts the intensity and tone of the shimmer, with frequency-specific shaping for highs and lows. The FB PITCH switch moves pitch shifting into or out of the loop, and FLIP swaps the stereo channels on each pass.

Prism Reverb can be used alone or inside the T-RackS 6 shell, which offers processor chains, series and parallel routing, and A/B/C/D comparison.
