01Overview

Super-7 is built around the sound of the Roland MKS-7 rackmount synth, which pairs the analog architecture of the 106 with PCM sounds from the 707 drum machine. UVI multi-sampled a large set of custom patches designed on the MKS-7, recording each one in three variations: clean, with chorus, and with the noise switch active. The result targets synthwave, new wave, electro, house and 1980s synthpop production.

Analog Synth Sounds and Layered Sound Design

Super-7 uses six discrete layers. Four are general-purpose synth parts, and the others cover drums and bass, giving you independent control over each part. Every instrument layer, apart from drums, has its own amp envelope, multimode filter with envelope, drive, phasor, EQ, delay and reverb sends.

Each layer also includes an arpeggiator and phraser with editable parameters. You can adjust every module, browse the included presets for the sound engine and arpeggiator, or build your own from scratch.

Drum Sounds and Standalone Instruments

The drum section draws on vintage and modern kits modeled on the 606, 626, 707, 808 and 909, plus custom kits made in UVI's Drum Designer. The multi-instrument can be used for full arrangements, and each part is also available as a standalone instrument with the same parameters, effects, sends, arpeggios and presets. This is useful when you need only one sound in a project or want extra instances of a specific instrument.

What formats and operating systems does Super-7 support?

Super-7 is available in Standalone format for Windows and macOS. It is a 64-bit product.

What do I need to run Super-7?

Super-7 runs in UVI Workstation version 3.0.25 or later, and Falcon version 2.1.8 or later. You need a free iLok account and an internet connection for license activation. A dongle is not required. The product needs about 5 GB of disk space, 4 GB of RAM (8 GB or more is recommended for large UVI soundbanks), and a 7,200 rpm hard drive or SSD.

Does Super-7 include presets?

Yes. Super-7 includes more than 260 factory patches covering synthwave, electro, house and modern analog-inspired genres, along with a preset library for the arpeggiator.
