01Overview

Shade is built to go beyond a conventional EQ or filter. Its engine covers traditional tasks such as broadstroke tone shaping and resonance control, then extends into creative territory with extreme slopes and multi-resonant shapes. UVI describes it as a creative environment rather than a single filter, where the modulation system ties everything together. The plugin runs on macOS and Windows in several common plugin formats.

Filter Shapes and Modulation Routing

Shade includes 35 filter types, ranging from digital and analog-modeled nonlinear shapes to multi-resonant designs. Resonant filters have discrete Q-Up and Q-Down controls, and shelf and peak shapes offer continuous slopes up to 2000dB/octave.

The modulation system provides nine instanceable modulators, including LFO, Envelope, Follower, MSEG and Random. Routing supports one-to-many and many-to-one connections, cross-modulation and muting, so one source can drive several parameters at once.
