Vintage Sound Sources and Character
Program 24 draws on the Solton Programmer 24, a 3-octave keyboard released in 1985, and the SM100 analog synth. The developer multisampled each sound, including the chorus and ensemble effect of the SM100, so the character of the original machines carries over.
The drum section captures the Programmer 24's 8-bit PCM sounds, and UVI added drum sounds from other classic machines such as the DMX, Linn and 808. Bass and lead arpeggios use the analog filter voicings of the original, and the strings and flute voices cover the rest of the palette.
UVI says the sounds are clean and punchy out of the box, with a full, classic 80s tone.
