Steel Water Bottle: Found Percussion Library for Kontakt by Soundiron

The library is deeply multi-sampled. Each set of tones has its own timbre and can be played alone or layered together. Each note has 12 round robins and up to 5 velocity layers, which helps reduce repetition when a pattern is played for long stretches.

Soundiron recorded the bottle up close in wide stereo. A second microphone position uses a tetrahedral binaural microphone, giving a closer, first-person perspective on playing the instrument. The samples are 24 bit / 48 kHz uncompressed PCM WAV files, with 1,722 stereo WAV files in total.

The library also includes tuned and untuned percussion, so you can use the bottle as a melodic or rhythmic source.

The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching, cross-fading and layering.

An LFO system provides selectable shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, tempo sync and fade-in time. Twelve lowpass, highpass and FX filters can be assigned to modulation sources such as velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position and a step-sequencer table.

The arpeggiator includes a velocity table and control over direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration. A key and scale lock keeps notes within common scales. The modular FX rack has 18 effect modules across 10 slots that can be ordered freely, and the convolution reverb includes 99 rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments plus 40 custom FX impulses.
