01Overview

McDSP built Revolver around flexibility. Beyond standard reverb controls, it lets you shape the impulse response itself, adjust pre-delay in positive or negative values, and route EQ across the reverb. Its impulse library covers rare, out-of-production reverbs and acoustic spaces, and the included tools let you create custom impulse responses for additional rooms or outboard gear. Mono and stereo versions are both available.

Sound Control and Impulse Response Tools

Revolver exposes the reverb in ways convolution plugins often do not. Total reverb time is shown both as a percentage and as RT60 values, with wet and dry levels always visible. Signal flow, impulse response data, EQ curves and images of the impulse source are available on separate views.

A reverb decay crossover network and specialized stereo imaging give you additional shaping options. Zero latency algorithms and double precision processing are part of the design.

Parameter changes are applied immediately, and the output is not muted during control updates, so you do not wait for the reverb to re-render.

Shaping the Reverb in a Session

The plugin includes a two-band dedicated reverb EQ and a three-band routable EQ. Two delay lines can be synced to your project tempo, which suits rhythmic reverb and echo effects.

The impulse library is the main draw for sound designers and mixing engineers looking for specific rooms, vintage units or acoustic spaces. Custom impulse responses can be built with the included tools, so you can capture spaces that are not in the library.
