01Overview

Ozone 12 Advanced Upgrade is an upgrade path for producers who already own Ozone Elements or Elements Suite and want the full Advanced set. The suite includes 21 plugins: a mothership plugin and 20 component modules that can be used individually or chained together. Ozone 12 adds new tools including Bass Control, Unlimiter, Stem EQ, the Custom Assistant flow and the IRC 5 Maximizer mode. Master Assistant is the suite's guided starting point for building a mastering chain.

New mastering tools in Ozone 12

Ozone 12 introduces several new modules. Bass Control adds drive, punch and balance to the low end, and Unlimiter uses machine learning to restore transients and peaks in overly compressed audio. Stem EQ lets you EQ vocals, bass, drums and instruments separately within a stereo master.

The Custom Assistant flow lets you choose genre targets and reference tracks, toggle modules and set loudness levels before Master Assistant builds the chain. The IRC 5 Maximizer mode is the newest limiting algorithm in the Maximizer module.

Workflow and modules

The mothership plugin combines the component modules into one chain, while each component can also run on its own. The Assistant View gathers targets and signal chain controls in one place. The Clarity, Impact and Transient/Sustain modules shape tone and dynamics, and Tonal Balance Control 2 meters your mix against a reference balance.

Ozone 12 also carries forward tools from earlier versions, including Imager, Spectral Shaper, Match EQ and Vintage Compressor, EQ and Tape.
