Ozone 12 Advanced Upgrade: Mastering Suite by iZotope

The Advanced upgrade centers on new processing tools for problems that are hard to fix at the mix stage. Unlimiter is built to restore dynamics in overly compressed audio, using machine learning to bring back lost peaks. Stem EQ lets you apply separate EQ to vocals, bass, drums and instruments in a stereo bounce, so you can adjust balance without the original session files.

The IRC 5 Maximizer mode is a new limiting algorithm for the Maximizer module. iZotope says it aims to raise loudness while keeping clarity and avoiding pumping or distortion. Stem Focus modes now use updated neural nets, which the developer says reduce artifacts when separating stems.

Master Assistant can generate a chain from a target genre or reference, and the Custom flow lets you select modules and loudness levels yourself. The Assistant View shows your target and signal chain in one place, so you can adjust the chain after the assistant builds it.

The suite fits producers who master their own tracks and want more control than a single limiter or EQ provides. Ozone 12 also includes earlier tools such as Imager, Spectral Shaper, Match EQ and Vintage Compressor, EQ and Tape, along with Tonal Balance Control 2 for metering while you mix.
