Vocal Assistant is the centre of the plugin's workflow. You can choose from targets in its library, or import a custom reference track for it to match in tone. From its menu screen you can make decisions about EQ, intensity and width, blend effects such as dimension, reverb and delay, and reduce competing mix elements through the Improved Unmask feature.

Nectar 4 Standard includes two 24-band Dynamic EQs designed for vocals. With Follow EQ mode, they track the pitch of the vocal in real time and address troublesome resonances without manual editing of each resonant frequency and harmonic.

The Voices Module offers 11 auto-harmonies, a MIDI mode for controlling voices with specific notes, and a Direction control that lets harmonies sit above or below the main vocal. The Backer Module shifts a vocal into eight different styles to create backing singers, which can be blended with tone, pitch and formant controls and automated across a track.

Pitch correction is provided through Melodyne 5 Essential, which is included with the plugin. Audiolens can also analyse a reference track and separate its vocal to give you a tonal target.
