Nectar 4 Standard Educational Version: Vocal Mixing Plugin by iZotope

Vocal Assistant uses machine learning to create custom presets that help a vocal fit the mix. You can choose from targets in a library, or import a reference track and have Vocal Assistant match its tone. From its menu you can adjust EQ, intensity and width, blend effects such as dimension, reverb and delay, and reduce competing mix elements with Unmask.

The two Dynamic EQs use Follow EQ mode to track the pitch of the vocal in real time and reduce troublesome resonances, so you do not have to edit resonant frequencies and harmonics by hand. Inter-plugin communication lets Nectar address tonal balance and masking with other iZotope plugins in the session.

The Voices Module offers 11 auto-harmonies and a MIDI mode for setting the notes each voice sings. You can set the number of voices, the chords they follow, and their range above or below the lead vocal. The Backer Module shifts the vocal into eight styles to create background singers, which can be blended with tone, pitch and formant controls and automated across a track.

Pitch correction comes from Melodyne 5 Essential, which Nectar includes through a partnership with Celemony. Hundreds of presets for music and dialogue are also included as starting points.
