01Overview

MOJO 2: Tenor Saxophone takes the tenor horn from the MOJO 2 library and makes it available as a standalone solo instrument. Vir2 Instruments recorded the sound with true legato, so transitions between notes are captured rather than simply crossfaded. Four era presets cover retro, vintage and modern tones, and an effects suite adds further shaping. It runs in the free Kontakt Player 7 as well as Kontakt 7.

Articulations and Legato for Solo Sax Lines

The library includes 13 articulations, among them Sustains, Staccato, Stabs, Bend Down, Octave Run Down and Up, Doits, Rise To Hit, Shakes, Trills, Swells, Crescendos, and Falls. Each articulation has up to four velocity layers and three round robins.

The developer recorded the transition between each note, which is the basis for its true legato claim. Speed control on each articulation patch lets you shorten or lengthen a gesture to fit your arrangement, and swell and crescendo length can be matched to project tempo.

Mic Positions, Ensemble Mode and Era Presets

Three mic positions (close, near and room) can be blended in the Mixer page. A pre-mixed Full Mix option is available for a lighter memory load.

Ensemble settings let you move from one player to a section of up to ten, with Auto Divisi mode for more natural group performances. The four era settings, Modern, Retro (60s-70s), Vintage 1 (40s-50s) and Vintage 2 (20s-30s), change the overall character of the sound.
