MOJO 2: Baritone Saxophone is built from the MOJO 2 horn library and focuses on the baritone sax as a solo voice for jazz, rock and pop. Vir2 Instruments recorded 13 articulations, including sustains, staccato, stabs, falls and shakes, along with true legato transitions between notes. Three mic positions (close, near and room) and a pre-mixed Full Mix give you control over the recorded sound, and four era presets cover retro, vintage and modern tones.

Sound, Articulations and Legato

The library includes 13 articulations, among them Sustains, Staccato, Stabs, Bend Down, Octave Run Down and Up, Doits, Rise To Hit, Shakes, Trills, Swells, Crescendos and Falls. Each articulation is sampled with up to 4 velocity layers and 3 round robins.

Vir2 says the instrument was recorded with True Legato, capturing the transition between notes so that horn lines play back more naturally. Each articulation patch includes a speed knob to speed up or slow down the articulation, and Articulation On/Off switches help reduce the memory footprint.

Mixing, Ensemble and Effects

Three mic positions (close, near and room) can be blended in the Mixer page. The Full Mix option gives a processed stereo mix of the three positions for a lighter memory load.

Ensemble settings let you use 1 to 10 players, with an Auto Divisi mode for more realistic section performances. The instrument includes 9 effects, among them EQ, Cabinet, Saturation, Tape Saturator, Compressor, Limiter, Delay and Reverb, with dozens of effect presets as starting points.
