Luftballon: Balloon Sound Library for Kontakt by Soundiron

The library is built from balloon inflation, pops, hisses, wheezes, twists, squeals, pulls and deflation flubbers, along with scrapes, thuds, thumps, taps and snaps. Soundiron describes the recordings as especially aggressive and dynamic, captured close up in a wide X-Y stereo field.

The master NKI instrument bank is in open Kontakt format and holds 428 stereo WAV files at 24 bit / 48 kHz, using 609 MB of installed space. Ambience patches built from the source material add sustained textures alongside the percussive articulations.

The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching, cross-fading and layering. An LFO with selectable shape, target, speed, intensity, tempo sync and fade-in time sits alongside 12 lowpass, highpass and FX filters.

An arpeggiator with a velocity table and controls for direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration is included, along with a key and scale lock. The FX rack provides 18 DSP modules in 10 slots and a convolution reverb with 99 rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments plus 40 custom FX impulses.
