Lofi Keys: Lo-Fi Electric Piano and Synth Plugin by Karanyi Sounds

Lofi Keys draws on a range of electric pianos and synth sounds, and the developer notes that the sources were resampled on vintage tape players, cassettes and VHS players. You choose from 40 sound sources across two layers, so you can combine a keys sound with a second source to build a custom blend.

Each layer has volume, fine-tune, octave and tone EQ controls. Noise layers for tape, VHS and vinyl add texture, and a tremolo and wow modulator adds movement to the sound. A main gain control sets the overall level.

The effects rack includes three modules. Dimension is a chorus effect with variations taken from the Vapor Keys series. Technocolor is an exciter designed for this instrument to shape character. Poly Space is a reverb module the developer describes as one of its best-selling effects. Each effect has its own dry/wet and in/out gain controls, and there are presets for quick setup.

The Smart Randomizer can randomize instrument sources, sound controls and effects, either per module or all at once through the Surprise option. It is useful when you want fresh starting points rather than building a sound from scratch.
