Polyscape: Synth Pad Instrument for Kontakt by Karanyi Sounds

Polyscape is built from 9 analogue synth sources. Karanyi Sounds recorded vintage patches from instruments including the Sequential Circuits Prophet, Nord Lead 2x, Oberheim OB32 Organ Module, Matrix 1000 and Matrix 6. Modern sources include the Moog Subsequent 37, Dave Smith OB6 and Sequential Circuits REV2.

The instrument contains 40 full-length sampled synth modules. They are grouped into eight subcategories: Strings, Brass, Reeds, Vox, Keys, Organs, Morphs and Specials. The Specials group includes sounds processed through a VHS player or hardware effect processors. Each module can be layered across the four slots to build your own scape.

The library includes 130 presets for film, ambient and electronic music. They are organized into Pads and Soundscapes, Strings and Sweeps, and Keys and Vintage sounds. Karanyi Sounds describes the pads as suited to large, deep cinematic atmospheres and the keys as 80s-style analogue sounds.

Because the presets are built from sampled modules, they work well as starting points. You can load a preset, then swap modules in the four slots to change the character of the sound. The developer also positions the presets for subtle moving sublayers under other parts of a track.
