01Overview

Kinderklavier Toy Piano is a sample library from Soundiron that captures a classic toy piano in detail. The developer describes the instrument as klonky and reverberant, with a raw, unpredictable character. Beyond the keys, the recordings include percussion and effects made by striking, dismantling and strumming the instrument, plus a set of ambiences built from the same source material. It is delivered as a Kontakt library and needs the full version of Kontakt to run.

Sound Character and Sampled Content

Kinderklavier is sampled across 25 keys, with 8 round-robin variations per key and an average of 6 velocity layers. The wooden body and metal tines give the notes a bright, resonant voice. Soundiron says the plastic keys produce a rattle when played hard, and those release sounds are included as optional samples.

The library also contains toy piano sustains, releases, percussion and sound effects. These go beyond standard keyboard sampling and can supply rhythmic and textural layers alongside the melodic instrument.

Kontakt Controls, Effects and Workflow

The Kontakt interface offers multi-layer controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch, articulation switching and cross-fading. An adaptable LFO has selectable shapes, targets, tempo sync and fade-in time. The arpeggiator adds control over direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration, and a key and scale lock keeps notes within chosen scales.

A modular FX rack provides 10 slots for 18 DSP modules, including phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp and cab simulators, compressors and EQ. The reverb section uses convolution impulses for rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor spaces, and 20 custom sound-designed FX and ambient presets are included.
