01Overview

Iron Pack 6 - Wooden Flutes draws on traditional Indian Venu and Native American wooden flute recordings. The main acoustic presets provide playable chromatic sustains, live phrases, trills and effects. Separate atmospheric and synth pad presets use the same flute sources, manipulated with effects and sound design, to create textural ambience and melodic drones. The pack is part of Soundiron's Iron Pack series of compact, affordable virtual instrument libraries for Kontakt and universal SFZ formats.

03In depth

Chromatic flute sounds and ambient pads

The chromatic multisamples and phrases are based on the full Little Wooden Flutes library. The pads, FX and ambient content are new and exclusive to this pack. The main instrument bank provides playable chromatic sustains and short melodic phrases, while the ambience patches and tonal drones cover more atmospheric textures.

The library ships with 91 stereo samples in 24-bit, 48 kHz uncompressed PCM WAV, using about 461 MB of disk space. Its 52 standard WAV samples can be used in any WAV-compatible environment, not only in Kontakt.

Kontakt controls, LFO and arpeggiator

The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching, cross-fading and layering. An adaptable LFO system lets you choose the shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, tempo sync and fade-in time.

The customizable arpeggiator adds control over direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration, and a key and scale lock keeps notes within common scales for melodic writing. A modular FX rack with convolution reverb and 20 custom FX presets rounds out the instrument.
