01Overview

Eventide's H3000 Band Delays Mk II brings the algorithm of the H3000 Harmonizer hardware into a DAW. The developer describes it as a tool for delays, filtering, stereo widening and dynamic rhythmic effects. Each of the eight delay lines has its own controls, so you can shape separate bands of a signal independently. A visual display shows every delay and its band shape, and the interface can be resized. The plugin includes more than 100 presets, among them recreations of original hardware patches and new artist presets.

Sound Character and Filter Behavior

The plugin's filters are recreations of the original hardware. Eventide says they accurately replicate the resonance and self-oscillation behavior of the H3000, which is a large part of the sound it is known for.

The developer has also remodeled the analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter sections of the original unit, so the signal path is meant to match the hardware more closely.

Because each band has its own filter type, frequency and Q, you can use it for swept combs, rhythmic gating and stereo spreading effects.

Workflow, Controls and Modulation

Each of the eight delay bands has level, panning, filter type, frequency and Q controls. Expert and Function tabs show all controls and assignments at once, so you can see the full routing without digging through menus.

Assignable Macro Soft Keys let you map several parameters to a single control. A Function Generator with 19 waveforms can modulate the delays, and MIDI control is supported for performance use.

The interface is resizable and offers an expandable view for working with the eight lines.
