Evolve Velvet provides 250 sound sources across acoustic, chords, multisample, synth, textures and transient categories. Each of the four layers (A, B, C, D) can run a sample engine or a synth engine. Sample layers offer playback direction, tone and keytracking controls. Synth layers include an oscillator shape slider ranging from sine to pulse, along with unison and detune.

The XY pad works in two modes. In Sounds mode it blends between the four sources. In FX mode it modulates any available parameter in the instrument. The dice buttons randomise individual layers or the whole plugin, including sound sources, parameters and effects.

Four macros shape the overall output. Soften reduces transient and harsh frequencies. Warmth adds subtle saturation and gentle harmonics. Sway adds wow and flutter pitch modulation. Haze applies a lo-fi hall reverb. Each macro can be routed before or after the FX modules.

Dual filters can run in parallel or in series and offer HPF, LPF, BP and Peak modes. The modulation system has 12 sources, including six ADSR envelopes with delay and hold, two LFOs and keytracking, and a full modulation matrix for detailed routing. Three rearrangeable effects slots host 16 modules, including delay, reverb, compressor, phaser and speaker simulation.
