Bloom Bass Impulse gathers modern synth bass loops, samples and one-shots into one instrument. Excite Audio built it for genres that rely on contemporary bass sounds, and the developer names drum and bass, acid, distorted bass, sub-bass, tech and dubstep as its main territory. You play the sounds from a keyboard layout, shape them with four macro controls and a set of main effects, and load 250 presets as starting points.

Bass Sounds and Sample Banks

The instrument is organized into eight sample banks, each dedicated to a different type of bass. Across the banks you get 112 bass samples, and every sample included with the product is royalty-free.

You can also import up to 112 of your own samples and swap them at any time. Samples sync to the host BPM, and you can set the key and BPM of imported audio so it fits the Bloom engine.

Workflow, Macros and the Phrase Player

Choose a key, pick a preset or bank, and trigger one of 14 BPM-synced bass loops across two octaves. White keys trigger samples, while black keys change playback speed and pitch and trigger sequences and effect modulation.

The Phrase Player sequences samples with Rate, Latch, Swing and Steps controls. Four macros (Sub-EQ, Noise, Crush and Width) provide instant tonal changes, and the Edit page offers sample start and end points, playback direction, choke groups and pitch controls.
