Bloom Vocal Aether is a vocal phrase instrument by Excite Audio that combines vocal loops, one-shots and phrases into a playable, key- and tempo-synced plugin for adding vocal hooks, textures and chops to a track.
Bloom Vocal Aether is built around vocal material rather than synthesis. Its eight sample banks hold 112 vocal phrases, mapped to 14 keys across the keyboard, with each phrase synced to the host tempo. A Phrase Player can sequence samples and modulate effects over time, and four macros control a chain of processing. Producers can also drag in their own audio, up to 112 samples, and swap them at any time.
The white keys trigger samples and loops, while the black keys change playback properties such as speed and tuning, and can trigger custom sequences and effect modulation.
The Phrase Player sequences sample playback in several modes. It can also draw curves for pitch, velocity, hi-cut and lo-cut filters, and the three effects. Familiar controls such as Rate, Latching and Swing are included, so an arpeggiator-style workflow will feel familiar.
The Edit page exposes sample start and end points, playback direction, speed, choke groups, formant control and attack and release. You can drag and drop your own audio files onto the waveform view or an empty bank slot, then set the key and BPM so they fit the Bloom engine.
The built-in effects are Reverb (Plate, Hall, Spring), Delay (Stereo, Ping Pong) and Modulation (Chorus, Vibrato, Flanger). They can be rearranged, and global Lo-Cut, Hi-Cut, Tone, Dry and Wet controls shape the output.
