Electric Pianos by Muze is a sample-based Kontakt instrument built around vintage electric piano sounds and the Yamaha CP80 electric grand. Its library contains 5035 compressed samples totaling about 1.3 GB on disk. Each of the 106 presets has two layers, so you can blend an electric piano with a second sound using volume controls. Sound Character and Sample Detail

Muze says the samples were recorded at 24-bit resolution with up to 10 velocity levels. The release samples include reverberation during note-off periods, and a trigger release function reproduces this tail when notes are released.

The layered velocity mapping lets the touch response shape tone from soft to hard playing. The developer describes the sounds as classic e-piano tones, based on a vintage e-piano and the Yamaha CP80.

Controls and Processing Chain

The interface gives access to all aspects of the sound. The built-in processing includes a 4-band equalizer, cabinet, screamer, rotator, distortion and tape saturator.

Because each preset uses two layers, you can combine an electric piano with additional sounds and balance them with the volume knobs, then shape the result with the effects chain.
