Sequencer structure and pattern chaining

The core of TX-101 is a sequencer with 4 tracks and 16 steps. Each track holds four different samples, giving 16 sounds in total, and the set leans toward organic glitches and metal hits.

Eight pattern presets can be joined and looped together to build a 128-step sequence (16 × 8). Delay and Flanger effects can be sequenced as two extra tracks, so effect changes follow the rhythm rather than sitting static across a loop.

According to the developer, both parameters such as cutoff, resonance and effects, and the steps themselves can be randomized separately, which is useful for generating variations of a pattern.

Instrument variations and modulation wheel

TX-101 includes six Kontakt instrument (.nki) presets: Master, ambient, hard, Leslie, modulations and talking. Each targets a different mood or style.

The modulation wheel is assigned to a different set of parameters in each instrument, so switching presets also changes how the wheel responds. The developer also provides a tutorial video and downloadable documentation for learning the instrument.
