01Overview

Delay MEMORY-BRIGADE models the BBD echo associated with the Electro-Harmonix Memory Man and Deluxe Memory Man pedals of the 1970s. Arturia built it on Phi and TAE modeling technologies, analyzing classic BBD circuits to reproduce their filtered, rusty character. The plugin adds features the original pedals lack, including tempo sync, stereo delay modes and an LFO with 16 destinations. It works on guitars, vocals and full mixes, and it runs in the major DAW formats.

BBD Sound and Character

The core of Delay MEMORY-BRIGADE is the filtered, dark repeat of a bucket brigade delay. Arturia says the plugin reproduces the driven feedback and lo-fi tone of the Deluxe Memory Man, a sound that differs from the cleaner character of tape delays.

An input equalizer with lowpass, highpass and peak filters lets you shape the signal before it enters the delay. Pushing the input adds saturation and soft clipping, which can warm up drums or add grit to a vocal slap.

Modulation, Stereo and Sync Controls

Delay MEMORY-BRIGADE offers three delay types: Left/Right, Ping Pong and Mid/Side. Processing is stereo with independent repeat times, and repeat rates can sync to the host tempo.

The integrated LFO can be assigned to 16 destinations, and an envelope follower allows dynamic, rhythmic modulation. Stereo tools control spatial width, and the window is resizable. The plugin also includes integrated tutorials.
