01Overview

Cloudmax packages five DSP modules into a single effects plugin. The core is a dual granular engine, which can produce shimmering effects, imitate vintage string machines or generate dense, complex textures. Its algorithmic reverb can create environments from small rooms to large spaces with tails of up to 16 seconds. Tape emulation, a ladder filter and an EQ round out the processing chain, and a set of 110+ factory presets gives you a starting point.

Granular Texture and Reverb Character

The dual granular engine lets you shift the octave pitch of the two engines relative to each other. This produces shimmering effects, string-machine-style tones and intricate textures from any source.

The reverb module pairs an algorithmic reverb with a delay line and subtle vintage tape pitch emulation. Karanyi Sounds describes it as capable of everything from intimate small rooms to cavernous spaces, with reverb tails of up to 16 seconds.

Controls, Randomization and Workflow

Cloudmax uses a streamlined set of controls that can be assigned to MIDI, making it easier to automate or map to a controller. Sound shaping is handled by built-in ladder low-pass and high-pass filters plus a low and high boost EQ, so you can fit the processed sound into a mix.

Smart Randomizer features, including Random Texture and Random Reverb, help you explore new settings quickly. The interface comes in light and dark skins.
