01Overview

Clack focuses on short, sharp wooden impacts. Soundiron recorded the instruments close-miked and mostly dry, in a medium-sized hardwood and masonry studio, so the samples keep body and liveliness without much room sound. The library is delivered as a single master NKI bank that runs in Kontakt, with a multi-layer interface, an arpeggiator and a built-in FX rack.

Wooden Percussion Sounds and Character

The library covers bamboo poles, bamboo logs, castanets, clappers, claves, handles, popgun, rattles, whaledrum and woodblock. Each note was recorded with 10 round-robins per velocity layer, with an average of 6 velocity layers per note, which helps keep repeated hits from sounding identical.

The samples are 24-bit / 48 kHz uncompressed WAV files. Soundiron remastered the recordings for version 3.0 and fused them into a four-layer modular template.

Beyond the raw instruments, the library includes 20 ambient patches and 20 sound-designed FX presets built from the same source material.

Controls, FX and Workflow

The interface offers multi-layer controls with LFO, filter, glide and arpeggiator sections. A full FX rack includes convolution reverb with custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments, so you can place the percussion in a space directly inside the instrument.

The master bank is 1.01 GB installed and includes 2,896 stereo WAV files.

What do I need to use Clack?

Clack requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or above. It will not run in full inside the free Kontakt Player and will only work in demo mode there.
