Bontabulous Fabtraption: Vintage Italian Synth Library for Kontakt

The library focuses on the tonal colors of the Bontempi HP 544-20. Its instrument articulations include synth sustains, staccatos, piano and violin, plus Magic Chords taken from the organ. Soundiron also sampled 34 tempo-syncable drum machine loops, giving you retro rhythm material alongside the melodic instruments.

The three main instruments are open-format Kontakt .nki instruments, and the drum and synth loops are recorded in two microphone positions. The twenty ambience patches and twenty sound-designed FX and ambient presets extend the library toward pads and textures.

The interface offers controls for volume, attack, release, transient offset, vibrato and octave layering. A Glide control allows legato and portamento playing for lead lines.

Modulation options include an adaptable LFO with selectable shape, target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can choose from 13 lowpass, highpass and FX filters and assign modulation to velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position or step-sequencer table control. The customizable arpeggiator adds a built-in velocity table and control over direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration.

A key and scale lock constrains notes to common scales and keys, which helps with melodic writing and live performance.
