Bloom Drum Kits is built from kits played in the room, recorded close-miked and then shaped for modern production. Excite Audio says the processed hits add tape-worn grit, so the result sounds imperfect and tactile rather than sterile.

The 250 presets are organized into seven categories. Basic presets are straightforward beats built from each factory kit. Experimental and Processed presets lean toward sound design, with distortion, effects and macro-driven movement. Low Energy and High Energy presets cover downtempo grooves and busier, more aggressive patterns. Percussion and Top Loops provide layering material for groove.

The Main Page is built for fast sketching. Fourteen white keys trigger individual sounds, black keys launch phrases or change properties, and four macros (Tape, Re-Amp, Room and Phaser) shape the sound. Eight sample banks with 112 samples can be swapped by loading a bank or dragging a sample onto a key.

The Edit Page covers playback direction, modes and speed, four choke groups, start and end markers, pitch, formant and pitch warp. The Bloom Sequencer triggers one-shots and loops with per-track velocity, probability and swing. Three effects modules (Dynamics, Reverb and Delay) can be rearranged, and the reverb offers Plate, Hall and Spring modes.
