Excite Audio recorded professional bass players using several bass guitars and a range of recording methods, from direct input to studio amping. The resulting samples are processed with the instrument's built-in effects and macros.

The library is organized into seven preset categories: Clean, Experimental, High Energy, Low Energy, Melodic, Processed and Rhythmic. This spans everything from smooth, undistorted lines to heavily processed and percussive slap bass.

White keys trigger bass samples and loops, while the five black keys trigger sequences and alter playback speed and pitch. The Phrase Player offers rate, latch and swing controls for sequencing patterns and can modulate pitch, velocity and filters.

Three effects modules, Filter, Speaker and Dynamics, sit alongside four macros labeled Tube, Digital, Sub-EQ and Realism. The Edit page provides start and end points, playback direction, pitch and formant controls for each sample.
