Spinet Sound and Character
The spinet is described as producing a rich, sustained timbre that is darker and less brilliant than the harpsichord. Bentside Spinet captures this tone with stereo close and far microphone positions for every key. The round-robin recordings add variation between repeated notes, and the release samples and key up and key down sound effects add mechanical detail to the attack and decay.
The instrument covers a five-octave range based on the original keyboard layout.
