Sound and Character of the Cassette Toy Piano Samples
The library contains five instruments built from a toy piano recorded on cassette. The developer notes that toy pianos are naturally imperfect, and the samples keep those imperfections, including small irregularities in each note.
Each note was recorded in three dynamic layers, and the samples are 24-bit uncompressed WAV files. The two cassette decks give two distinct tonal colors: one clean and neutral, the other darker and more degraded.
The noise is handled with a dedicated noise knob. Each note was denoised, so stacked chords do not build up noise from every voice. Instead, a single noise sample is heard under a chord, which keeps the sound more realistic.
