Four Decks for Lo-Fi Piano Character
The samples were processed through four different decks. Deck A Stereo is the highest quality of the set, with very low pitch instability and a stereo recording. Deck A Mono offers the same quality in mono. Deck B Mono has a slightly loose drive belt that introduces noticeable pitch instability, which the developer notes sounds especially good when transposed down. Deck C Mono is the noisiest of the group with a medium amount of pitch instability, and Deck D Mono is similar to Deck A with more instability in both pitch and overall sound.
Each note has been denoised with a high quality algorithm to prevent noise stacking when several notes play together. Some noise remains in the samples to avoid denoising artifacts. A separate noise knob adds noise back in with its own volume and filtering, so a five-voice chord carries one noise sample rather than five layered on top of each other.
