Cassette Keys.01 for Ableton is a set of Ableton Racks by THEPHONOLOOP that runs inside Ableton Live. The sounds blend physical modelling and FM synthesis, captured through an old, worn cassette recorder to give them a lo-fi, vintage character. The collection includes 30 Instrument Racks with mapped macros and custom Effect Racks, so you can shape sounds without leaving one panel. Vintage Cassette Character and Playability

THEPHONOLOOP built the sounds from physical modelling and FM synths, then recorded them on a cassette recorder. The developer describes the result as vintage and slightly wonky.

The samples cover a range from C0 to E6 with four velocity layers, so dynamics respond across the keyboard. Notes were de-noised with a high-quality algorithm to avoid noise stacking when several notes play together. Sample Start can be edited, and a reverse (REV) mode is included for alternative textures.

Racks, Macros and Workflow in Ableton Live

The 30 Instrument Racks come with macros already mapped, which gives you quick control over each sound. Custom Effect Racks are included for processing the output within Live.

The library is 848 MB of samples, or 366 MB after lossless Live compression, so plan your storage accordingly. Because the racks are native to Ableton Live, they fit directly into an existing session without a separate host.
