Sound, Character and Noise Control
THEPHONOLOOP says the instruments were recorded with four dynamic layers, giving each note a sense of velocity-driven variation. The samples carry a natural cassette character with many small imperfections, which suits the organic tone the developer aims for.
Noise is handled with a dedicated noise knob rather than baked in. Every note was denoised with a high-quality algorithm to prevent noise stacking when playing chords. Two noise samples, each around two minutes long, let you add tape hiss at your own level, and that noise can be filtered along with the rest of the sound.
